The fibre:
Our superfine merino has an amazing lustre along with fantastic elasticity. It is incredibly low in micron which contributes to the scarf’s wonderful softness. The wool grows in Western Victoria, not too far from our mill. It travels only 250km in its journey from farm to scourer to us. The scourer in Geelong adheres to strict EPA regulation. This process is local, environmentally friendly and, above all, it supports Australian manufacturing.
It is this reason that we select only the best. We ensure that we craft it into products that will both highlight and compliment these amazing fibres.
The process:
Once the wool is scoured it comes to our little mill. Nick processes all of our merino fibre in small batches into a soft and bouncy yarn. Once spun, Isabel then uses the yarn for knitting and finishing.
We have processed every aspect of this garment on site in the most environmentally friendly and sustainable way. 95% of our mill’s power is generated by our solar system. The waste water goes into our organic orchard and any waste is composted. All of this in Australia’s greenest mill and the only mill to be certified by Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA).
