Description
La Bella Yarn is range of yarn we have named to reflect the yarns’ beauty. It is a yarn blend of alpaca and superfine merino in a number of different natural colours and weights. “La Bella” is actually the name of a shipwreck in nearby Warrnambool. It is a link to the history and cultural past of our corner of the world.

Fibre:
The merino is non-mulesed, superfine and has travelled ~300km from farm to scourer to us. It is gorgeously soft with amazing comfort and elasticity. It is a superfine, not super-washed, yarn. It is therefore as environmentally friendly as a yarn can be.
We carefully select all of our alpaca from specific breeders nearby, all Victoria, all natural!
Both fibres combine to make La Bella Yarn
The Process:
The wool has been scoured to remove the lanolin, but it is not carbonised. It means that it is better for for you and the environment. We wash all of the alpaca fibre with rain water and a low phosphate detergent, therefore you may still find some grass seeds in the yarn.
We have designed this yarn by bringing both fibres together during the process to create this lovely alpaca merino yarn.
Our solar system supplies most of the electricity for our processing.
We want to take care of our property, our land and our animals. And we strongly believe in being sustainable, ethical and environmentally responsible. These aren’t just words but a lifestyle and an ethos that is embedded in all of our yarns.
Recommendation:
We recommend that you purchase sufficient product for your project. In the La Bella Yarn range there can be variations between batches because the fibres are natural in colour and it varies from animal to animal.
We make all of our products with love and with passion and we would love you to cherish them as much as we do. Please handle with care!
