Our La Bella range of yarns are based on single sourced, superfine merino (17.5 micron) from Ambleside Merino and Suri stud. This wool’s whole life is spent in Western Victoria, Australia. From farm to yarn, it is grown in Foxhow, scoured in Geelong and processed by us in Ecklin South. (A total of just 225km, not many yarns can claim this.) Keeping with our ecological ethos we have our merino scoured, not carbonised or “super washed”, it is as close to natural as can be, even with the odd bit of vegetable matter still visible.
Once it arrives at our door we carefully prepare each small batch by hand, then guide it through our equipment with the aim of creating the softest, most luxurious yarns. They are 100% Australian, created with care and passion so that all can enjoy using this amazing fibre.
We run mill tours every Saturday and Sunday to show how a yarn is created.
