2-Day Masterclass Workshop in Yarn Making

An immersive, hands-on weekend inside our working mill

Ever wondered what really happens inside our mill?

Join us for a two-day Yarn Master Class and step inside our working mill for a rare, hands-on experience of commercial yarn making. Over the weekend, you’ll work directly with the machinery used to card, spin and ply our yarns, guided by our small, experienced team.

You’ll gain insight into the fibres we use, how they behave through each stage of production, and how key decisions shape the final yarn. Shared in an intimate, small-group setting and offered only occasionally, this workshop provides practical experience and a deeper understanding of yarn making.

By the end of the weekend, you’ll take home approximately 300 grams of a limited-edition yarn that you helped create.

What’s Included

This two-day master class includes:

• An introduction to GOR Woollen Mill and our production processes

• A detailed look at the fibres we use and how fibre choice impacts yarn

• Hands-on experience operating carding, spinning and plying machinery

• Guidance throughout the full yarn-making journey, from raw fibre to finished skein

• Lunch provided on both days

Workshop Details

Format: Weekend workshop

• Saturday: 9:00am – 3:00pm (approx.)

• Sunday: 9:00am – 1:00pm (approx.)

Group Size:

• Limited to 6 participants

• Minimum of 4 participants required for the workshop to proceed
